Re: Another 80's JGB seeder shout-out |
Sorry, can't track down the video (though this venue was right down the road from my E Bay haunts of many yrs past), as I am busy frying up a batch of Relict Leopard Frog kidneys, with effluvium of Vegas Valley Wash...they just aren't the same without that hint of washed up Elvis impersonators, percolated through the alluvial fan of Vegas Valley Failures...
It's a little known fact that I once spotted a Relict Leopard Frog impersonator IN the Vegas Valley Wash. Cheeky little bastard--wanted protective status, but was a bullfrog in sheep's clothing.

Outstanding.
Don't think the little critter would get the same respect if it was a toad instead of a frog. Damn toader bias!

I think your "respect" question would depend on the constituency. You ever heard of anyone licking a frog? There is a whole cult of toadlickers.

Constituency
...ya got yer folks represented by the frogs and on the other hand ya got the toadlickers
OK, so maybe it was a stretch of the true definition. But when have Deadheads been strict followers of convention?

Re: Another 80's JGB seeder shout-out |
One could argue that following the TOG explosion of the mid 80's, a large number of new Heads did nothing but strictly follow convention. Or at least what they perceived to be the convention necessary to be perceived as ultra-cool and getting "it".

Ah the famous/infamous "touch heads". Didn't the touch heads grow to to be wook #17?

Re: Another 80's JGB seeder shout-out |
I'm afraid this poor gentleman not only got "it", he injested "it", snorted "it", licked "it", shot "it" and smoked "it" - only to realize too late that what he thought was some primo "it", was in actuality a piece of an old Nerf footbal.

Ha--this is actually the species of choice, Bufo (Anaxyrus) alvarius, the Sonoran Desert Toad. Last seen loading up for a trip to the painted desert of Utah with SDH & co.
